2025 marks a special milestone as we celebrate 25 years of Verder Scientific in the United States. What began on September 1, 2000, with the founding of Retsch Inc., has grown into a thriving, multi-brand organization dedicated to our mission of Enabling Progress. This anniversary kicks off a year of celebration, not only to honor our incredible journey of growth and innovation but also to give back to the communities where we have established our roots.

What's New with Carbolite-Gero

Carbolite Gero's versatile new TSO rotary / oscillatory reactor tube furnace range incorporates high-quality heating elements and innovative thermal insulation design to achieve first class performance while maintaining both reduced case temperatures and power consumption.

The TSO tube furnace body is split into two halves and hinged at the rear; pneumatic dampening struts at either end provide a smooth opening action. The ability to open the furnace makes it easier for operators to insert vessels, such as reactors, with end flanges that would make them difficult to insert into a non-split furnace.

The TSO rotary reactor tube furnace has been specially designed for the processing or testing of powdered or granular materials at high temperatures. A quartz vessel is fitted within the furnace into which materials are placed. A variable speed drive system rotates the vessel within the heated zone by 314° to create an oscillatory motion. Optional accessory packages offer standard or fluted vessels, and the ability to operate under either air or a modified gas atmosphere.

The new QATM micro hardness tester series is a combination of a classic micro hardness tester starting from 0.25 gf, universal macro hardness tester up to 62.5 kgf and a microscope for metallographic analysis. With a new design and high-end components such as: automatic 8-fold tool changer, plug & play test modules, fully automated axes, high-resolution optics and optimized motion sequences.

In combination with the QpixControl2 software, there are no limits to the imaging of complex applications. This perfectly harmonized micro hardness tester system impresses with its overall functionality and high degree of automation. Especially in times of automation and simplification of work processes, these devices are ideally suited, particularly with regard to digitalization, data transfer and networkability. With this new QATM product range, a wide variety of applications can be covered and combined for the respective areas of use.

The ELEMENTRAC CN-r is the perfect solution for high-throughput laboratories needing fast and reliable nitrogen, protein, and carbon determination. This analysis method, known as Dumas analysis or the Dumas method, is a proven alternative to the traditional Kjeldahl method for determining total nitrogen and protein by combustion of the sample.

State-of-the-art hardware and an integrated PC with touchscreen allow the operator to monitor the process and control all parameters. The compact design of the ELEMENTRAC CN-r saves laboratory space. The use of non-aggressive chemicals ensures higher work safety compared to the Kjeldahl method.

Typical samples for the Dumas combustion analyzers are natural products of various compositions. The ELEMENTRAC CN-r ensures complete combustion analysis of all samples thanks to the use of a pure oxygen atmosphere during the process. Combined with the highly efficient, chromium-free catalyst, all components are fully oxidized. This prevents the formation of soot and liquid tin, contributing to the stability and accuracy of the results. Furthermore, method optimization is greatly simplified by the excess oxygen during combustion in the ELEMENTRAC CN-r.

The innovative autosampler of the ELEMENTRAC CN-r ensures clear sample identification, preventing mix-ups even in a busy laboratory environment and making it easier to handle a large number of samples.
