We are a dedicated and motivated team of 45 people, located in Newtown, PA, and represent the six brands of our group in the domestic market, providing laboratories with innovative, precise and efficient solutions: Retsch is our specialist in laboratory mills and sieving equipment. Microtrac develops leading solutions for particle characterization. Carbolite supplies high-performance laboratory ovens. Eltra enables precise elemental analysis. QATM takes care of metallographic sample preparation and hardness testing and ERWEKA is our producer of pharmaceutical testing devices. Verder Scientific operates 13 production sites and eleven sales companies worldwide and are part of the German-Dutch technology group Verder, a group of companies with over 2500 employees around the globe. Responsibilities Include:

Executive & Administrative Support:
Provide comprehensive day-to-day support to the President, including calendar management, travel arrangements, correspondence, meeting preparation, handling confidential information, assisting with personal tasks, preparing presentations/reports, and acting as the first point of contact for calls, emails, and communications.

HR Operations & Compliance:
Administer employee onboarding (offer letters, orientation, exit interviews), maintain employee records, ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies, manage payroll/timekeeping, liaise with payroll/benefits vendors, and support recruitment (job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination).

Employee Engagement & Development:
Assist with employee engagement initiatives, performance reviews, training coordination, organize development sessions, wellness programs, and diversity & inclusion initiatives to promote continuous learning and professional growth.

Office & Facilities Management:
Oversee daily office operations, serve as primary contact for vendors/service providers/building management, manage office supplies/equipment/facilities maintenance, coordinate internal meetings, company events, special projects, and ensure compliance with workplace safety and organizational policies.

Collaboration & Project Support:
Collaborate with all departments to facilitate smooth operations, maintain organized filing systems, replenish office supplies, support projects/events as assigned, manage inventory, source vendors, obtain quotes, maintain supplier relationships/contracts/compliance documentation, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

Qualifications & Attributes: 

Education & Experience:   Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred. 2–5 years in HR, administrative support, or office management roles, with a preference for generalist experience.

HR Knowledge & Compliance:   Strong knowledge of HR practices, payroll, employment law, labor laws, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, email platforms, and office management tools.

Organizational & Communication Skills:   Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to build productive vendor and stakeholder relationships.

Professionalism & Discretion:   High level of discretion, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive information. Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and fostering an inclusive, supportive office culture.
