Microtrac develops leading solutions for particle characterization. Carbolite supplies high-performance laboratory furnaces and ovens. Eltra enables precise elemental analysis. QATM takes care of metallographic sample preparation and hardness testing and Erweka is our producer of pharmaceutical testing devices.

Microtrac Sales Specialist (m/f/d) – South Africa 
 
Are you ready to grow sales of innovative particle analysis solutions in South Africa now?
 
Microtrac is expanding its presence in the South African region to provide world-class particle characterization solutions to our customers—therefore we are looking for a Microtrac Sales Specialist. This role is key to driving new business, supporting customers, and strengthening our market leadership in laboratory instrumentation.

Primary responsibilities as Microtrac Sales Specialist:

  • Technology: Provide professional consulting and on-site support to customers, particularly for defined product lines such as Dynamic Image Analysis, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Laser Diffraction (LD), and Static Multiple Light Scattering (SMLS), Gas Adsorption (Physi – Chemisorption) – ensuring customers receive optimal solutions for their specific applications.

  • Customer demonstration: Conduct on-site product demonstrations, support and on site trainings for prospects and customers, ensuring they experience the practical performance and full value of our solutions.

  • Relationship building: Develop strong relationships with decision-makers, industry specialists and end-users to build loyalty and drive repeat business, contributing sustainably to our success in particle characterization.

  • Commercial sustainability: Achieve sales targets, manage the entire sales cycle, and keep management informed through territory forecasts as well as monitor market and competitor activities to identify trends early and secure long-term sales success.

  • Sales processes: Prepare quotations and information packages, delivering timely accurate communications to prospects and customers by maintaining an active CRM pipeline, ensuring all sales activities and customer interactions are accurately logged and followed up in a timely manner.

  • Field activities: Plan, schedule, and execute travel for customer visits, tradeshows,  and equipment demonstrations to maximize visibility and impact.

As Microtrac Sales Specialist you're a perfect match, if...

  • Education: A minimum Master’s degree in Materials Science or a related engineering discipline is part of your background, and you have practical laboratory or industrial sales experience.

  • Technical experience: You have proven experience with experience in the use of classic surface and particle characterization techniques, such as Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Infrared spectroscopy (IR), FTIR, TGA, X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), Temperature Programmed Reduction (TPR), Chemisorption analysis, as well as Temperature Programmed Reactions (TPRx), laser diffraction (LD) and dynamic image analysis (DIA) is not negotiable.

  • Commercial experience: You thrive working independently and proactively, managing your territory with minimal supervision and collaborating well with internal teams to win and retain business.

  • Skills: Mechanical aptitude and technical curiosity as well as outstanding communication and negotiation skills drive your success in customer consultations
    Personality: A team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate are part of your working style, strong organizational and communication abilities help you manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Additional information: you are able and willing to travel approximately 50% of the time, primarily in the South Africa Sub-Saharan region and you are well versed with CRM as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Dynamics365).
